Carvers Passport to Fine Wine – Cliff Lede Vineyards Wine Pairing Dinner

Come join the Carvers team for a Cliff Lede Vineyards Wine pairing dinner on Monday, October 7th at 6:30. Enjoy an evening featuring fine wine from their Napa Valley vineyards paired with chef Drew’s great cuisine. Mingle with your friends and make new ones while learning all about Cliff Lede wine from our featured speaker Jason Lede himself. Cliff Lede Vineyards was established in 2002 by Canadian born Bordeaux enthusiast, Cliff Lede, following the acquisition of a sixty acre estate in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. With a focus on producing wines from estate vineyards, Lede tapped David Abreu, considered the best viticulturist in Napa Valley, to replant the vineyards. Lede decided to name each vineyard block after some of his favorite rock songs and albums—from “My Generation” to “Dark Side of the Moon,” creating what is known today as the Cliff Lede Vineyards “Rock Blocks.” In 2005, a state of the art, 25,000 square foot winery and cave system was etched into a hillside overlooking the estate vineyards. Not only did Cliff create a beautiful property, he also assembled an unrivaled team that shares his passion for quality.

Carvers Crew Takes Third Place in the Great Food Truck Race

A crew from Carvers participated in The Great Food Truck race over the last nine weeks hosted by Tyler Florence. The team was selected for this popular reality show over hundreds of entries and was equipped with a food truck, a chase car and all of the ingredients for the “Summer Beach Battle” that took place in several popular Florida destinations. The crew included head chef Drew Ballard, Jess Sara a Carvers guest favorite server and Travis Day, one of Dayton’s award winning bar tenders who competed for eight of the nine weeks on the Sunday evening show. Although they stayed in the race for eight weeks with one official week win and one unofficial week win, they came up short on the grand prize. We are all proud of the way they represented the Dayton area and Carvers in this nationally televised show. It was a great experience and sparked the teams dreams of owning a food truck in the future. Here are some photos from the show and the watch parties that were held at Carvers on Sunday evenings along with a couple of local news articles that describe the event and the Carvers team.
