Carvers Crew Takes Third Place in the Great Food Truck Race

A crew from Carvers participated in The Great Food Truck race over the last nine weeks hosted by Tyler Florence. The team was selected for this popular reality show over hundreds of entries and was equipped with a food truck, a chase car and all of the ingredients for the “Summer Beach Battle” that took place in several popular Florida destinations. The crew included head chef Drew Ballard, Jess Sara a Carvers guest favorite server and Travis Day, one of Dayton’s award winning bar tenders who competed for eight of the nine weeks on the Sunday evening show. Although they stayed in the race for eight weeks with one official week win and one unofficial week win, they came up short on the grand prize. We are all proud of the way they represented the Dayton area and Carvers in this nationally televised show. It was a great experience and sparked the teams dreams of owning a food truck in the future. Here are some photos from the show and the watch parties that were held at Carvers on Sunday evenings along with a couple of local news articles that describe the event and the Carvers team.

Dayton SCORE Holiday Celebration at Carvers

The Dayton chapter of SCORE (Service Core of Retired Executives) held its annual holiday celebration at Carvers. Chapter members along with invited clients, partners and other guests enjoyed an evening of fine food with a special menu, holiday beverages and socializing. The annual event is a time to recognize SCORE volunteers with awards and spotlight some of the chapter’s client successes. Phillip Parker, the president of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce was the guest speaker who highlighted some of the Dayton area business successes for 2018 and chapter chair Ann Riegle-Crichton handed out the 2018 recognition awards. Prizes were awarded with the annual drawing featuring prize baskets from SCORE clients. Take a look at all of the fun.

SCORE (www.score.org) was founded by the SBA in the 1960’s to harness the skills and knowledge of retiring business executives to help start and grow small businesses in America. Today it is a nation wide organization of over 350 chapters and over 3000 counselors that are retired, semi-retired or still active in business on a daily basis. The Dayton Chapter has over 50 members that help small for-profit businesses and non-profit organizations in eight southwest Ohio counties. These seasoned and successful business veterans help local entrepreneurs that are dreaming of starting a new business, need to stabilize and recover a struggling business, or want to compete aggressively and grow a successful business. Most of the Dayton SCORE counseling and education services are free so visit our website at: https://dayton.score.org/ or call: 937-225-2887
