“Just a quick note to say Thank you!   Our experience was first class.  The servers were great and the food was perfect.  That may have been the best piece of salmon I’ve ever had!” Kudos to your team – thank you. Tom from Dayton

“We had a great experience tonight at the Johnnie Walker dinner. Everything was outstanding. Please pass along our thanks to Josh, Chef Drew and his culinary staff, the service staff and reps.” Rob & Holly from Dayton

“We are on our way home after having dinner at Carvers. Lisa waited on us and was great. Then a sweet lady stopped by and told us about the early bird specials. She also. told us about a special kin the lounge from 5 to 6:30. She was so enthusiastic and happy. Then she gave us a certificate for dessert for our next visit. ( They were first time visitors so I gave them a First Time Visitor’s Card)
So we celebrated our anniversary on Sweetest Day and had a wonderful meal. ” Thank you. Susan from Columbus

“Going out to a nice restaurant isn’t something that I do all of the time, so when I do, I want it to be very special.” Mat from Dayton

“Carvers is by far one of the nicest restaurants in the area and is the one that’s at the top of my list when I want something exceptional. Their prices are within my range, and the total experience is what I’d expect to a pay a lot more for. It always seems like you are getting much more than your money’s worth.” Seth from Kettering

“Their famous prime rib and their steaks are as good as any restaurant in town, at any price. The restaurant also has a lot of those special touches that you find in the nicest restaurants that typically cost a lot more.” Kimberly from Louisville

“There’s nothing stuffy or pretentious about carvers and it’s a place that I can feel both special and comfortable in at the same time.” Alex from Centerville

“For my money, nobody beats Carvers.”

“Going out to dinner is something of a way of life for me, and I do it on a regular basis. For special occasions I’ll spurge and go to a real expensive restaurant. But, for the most part, I frequently go to dinner at some of the other nice, albeit less expensive, places in the area such as Carvers.”

“Even though it’s definitely what you would call a nice place, Carvers is still casual enough to “come as you are” and because their prices are still reasonable, it doesn’t have to cost me an arm and a leg every time I go.”

We had a delicious steak dinner with friends for New Year. With a party of eight, all but one steak was cooked to perfection. My husband and I enjoyed the filet with loaded baked potatoes and salads. Some friends had strip steaks, one had prime rib with lobster and another had a spicy Texas steak. We were impressed with the wine list and enjoyed a lovely Cabernet that was reasonably priced. Others opted for cocktails. The crime brûlée was perfect.

Visited this restaurant with a co-worker while on business in the Dayton area. We were both casually dressed (in jeans) but we were welcomed right in! The interior of the restaurant is nicely done. Seating options include booths and tables. There is outside eating, as well. As the name suggests, steakbis the main option for entrees, but there are a number of other choices available that include pork, chicken and seafood. I had to have steak, and chose the prime rib, which was excellent. Desert was creme brulee, which was also quite good. This restaurant has an extensive wine list, but somewhat limited options for beers. Domestics were available, but not many craft beers. I did select a local Dayton brew though! The staff was very friendly and professional. Our server did a great job making some suggestions, although I had my heart set on steak! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a nice restaurant with a great selection of meat entrees. I will likely visit there again the next time I’m in Dayton.

Did an overnight on the way back from visiting U. Dayton. Asked a local for a good steakhouse so the recommendation was Carvers. Not a disappointment at all. Some reviews knock the service for being slow but I cannot speak to this as it was a Monday evening so very few diners putting pressure on the wait staff or kitchen. Needless to say our service was prompt and attentive. Their wine list is extensive or should I say expensive. Using my Vivino app Carvers is at a minimum doubling regular prices. Expect to pay at least $60 to start – good wine though. Surprisingly they had prime rib available so wife and I ordered that up. Daughter had a the chicken special. Calamari appetizer was only so so. Never had it served in strip form and it was a little on the soft side and a light on taste. Would not order again. As for main courses the prime rib was outstanding with a nice rosemary crust and cooked perfectly. Daughter raved about the chicken dish. Very satisfied with the entire experience, food and atmosphere. Can’t say I would skip the other two steakhouses that were in the vicinity but if my experience is typical then Carvers is a winner.

“It’s apparent that the Carvers takes their business seriously, like the nicest and more expensive places in town do. It always seems like you’d expect to pay a log more for this kind of dining experience. It is the best value in town.”

“We joined business associates for dinner on the bar side. Great service from a young lady from PEI. Three of us had the petite filet and it was fantastic. Baked potato great. Caesar salad very good. No dessert requested. Decent pricing. Really nice spot to relax and enjoy.

“NY caliber steak house with Midwest charm. Excellent setting, jazz always playing, soothing lighting, classy, low noise, generally no kids and make reservations.  Excellent steaks and wines – no regrets ever with the chef’s recommendations.  Perhaps the BEST service in Dayton.”

As stated in the title, this is a quote from my husband who is very picky about his food and the way it is cooked. It’s been over 3 hours and my husband is still ranting and raving about the food, especially the pork chop. He said, “the chef must be a God”. I am from this area, but have never gone to Carver’s, probably thinking it above my price range, but I was pleasantly surprised, especially by taking advantage of the Early Bird specials. I normally get prime rib when I eat our, and I was pleasantly surprised when this was included as a $20.00 3 course dinner, complete with a wonderful Carver salad, complete with spinach, cranberries, apples and a wonderful dressing, potato au gratin and crème brulee. So wonderful!!! Our service was as perfect as the food, and we certainly will return.

Carver’s is my favorite place to eat. I have been visiting this establishment for almost 9 years and I have yet to be disappointed. The food is awesome, the drinks are good, I love the outdoor patio, and the live music. I highly recommend trying the calamari and the prime rib and you can wash it down with a refreshing sea breeze.
