Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day, a U.S. public holiday in May; Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day honors those who died while in military service. It is also not to be confused with Armed Forces Day, a minor U.S. remembrance that also occurs in May, which specifically honors those currently serving in the U.S. military.

In February, the Carvers lounge crew and chefs participated in the fourth annual “Battle of the Bartenders” and won the “Peoples Choice Award” for the third year in a row. The Buckeye Vodka Battle of the Bartenders event, now in its fourth year, has continued to gain interest from the community. Last year it sold out with more than 450 in attendance. “We do a lot of events focusing on the restaurants in town and we have a lot of talented bartenders and I thought, ‘what about creating an event that focuses on them?’,” said Amy Zahora Miami Valley Restaurant Association Executive Director. “We still have the food aspect there, but the main focus is the bartender.” More than 14 restaurants will be on hand serving food and libations to hungry diners. The drinks are shrouded in secrecy, but the food is being shared in advance.

Although Carvers will be closed on Christmas Day so that our employees can spend the day with their families, the restaurant will be open for reservations on Christmas Eve afternoon and evening for your special holiday dining experience with family and friends. Take a break from wrapping presents on Christmas Eve and bring the family to Christmas Eve. Once all of the gifts are open and the Christmas morning chaos subsides, start a new family tradition and join us at Carvers for a holiday lunch or dinner on the day after Christmas.
